An accomplished businessman, philanthropist and great son of Owerri Zone, Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukwu (Ugosly) has said Owerri Zone will have effective and efficient representation at the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, if he wins the electoral contest for the position.
Speaking during a recent consultation with leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area (LGA), at the country home of the immediate past State Chairman of the APC, Chief Nlemigbo, the senatorial aspirant pointed out that he has come to do the needful, reach out to the people, walk the talk and deliver the goals for Owerri Zone.
About Mbaitoli, he lamented that the area has suffered persistent neglect over the years adding that there is nothing one can look around and say it will attract commerce.
His words: " I appeal to Owen Zone and my people in Mbaitoli to acknowledge me by giving me the opportunity to represent them at the Senate. I have the capacity and capability to fight to the end and win.
We are sidelined because we have people without guts. We have other constants but I am the best for Owerri Zone because
I understand the business of legislation, which is to pass bill, lobby and attract democracy dividends.'
"When it comes to business I am shrewd and unstoppable. I have fought fights with eagles and loins in the dream and won. The same way I will fight for the good people of Owerri Zone. You will recover your lost voice at the Senate and you will get as a Zone, everything you are entitled to.
"This is the turn of Mbaitoli and every Mbaitoli person should support it. I will invest everything to make sure that my people are empowered with what they need. This is our time to fly. I will attract jobs for the youths and beautiful retirement for the elderly. I am set to correct the past mistakes because they are correctable. I will right the wrongs from day one and I will never look back. I will represent you from day one and will never look back," he stressed.
Responding, an elder and leader in Mbaitoli, Sir D.M. Agogbue, described Prince Nwachukwu as over qualified but advised him not to get over confident but to be prepared because he is going to face stiff challenge pointing out that Mbaitoli has been marginalized for so long.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Area, LGA, Chief John Eke, said that out of the two federal parliamentary positions, Mbaitoli must get one. He urged the good people of Mbaitoli especially the leaders to sit back and think very well because the area must strive not to miss the opportunity.
Chief Eke, blessed Ugosly and prayed that he will succeed. He also prayed that his men will not defraud him while urging them to put selfish interest aside this time.
Speaking, Barrister Nlemigbo, appealed to Mbaitoli leaders to elect delegates that will not default as charity begins at home.
He said in negotiation, Mbaitoli has to ask for her slot and urged Ugosly to reach out more especially to people at the grassroots as there will be primary election. He called on Mbaitoli people to always support the government and the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is doing his utmost to ensure that Imo State attains the peak of development and prosperity.
Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukwu, was accompanied by members of his campaign council including Barrister Kingsley Ononuju, Hon. Chibututu Isiguzo, director of campaign council, Chief Sam Anokam, Emma Ugwuegbulem, woman leader, Lady Chinedu, Chief George Iwuamadi - the Godfather, Dr Mrs Hon. Ngozi, Rt Hon.
