The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of Justice Theresa Eberechukwu Chukwuemeka-Chikeka as the Chief Judge of Imo State.
She is among the 46 judges and heads of courts, whose appointments the NJC recommended at its 98th meeting, which ended on May 11.
According to NJC spokesman, Soji Oye, all recommended candidates were expected to be sworn-in after approval of the Council’s recommendations to their governors and the respective State Houses of Assembly.
For the Imo Customary Court of Appeal the NJC okayed Justice Okorie Victor Uchenna as the President.
Meanwhile, the NJC also recommended the appointment of Okereke Chinyere Ngozi, Onyekachi Michael Bless Chibueze, Antoinette Chinenye Onyeukwu, Innocent Chidi Ibeawuchi, Alinnor Lotanna Chukwunyere Leo and Nwachukwu Obinna Emmanuel as judges for the High Court Imo State.
While Okafor Emeka Paulinus and Onuegbu Chinemerem Ucheoma were approved as judges of the Customary Court of Appeal, Imo State.
