IMO APC: NEED TO PICK BEST FOR MBAITOLI STATE ASSEMBLY TICKET(SPONSORED)

By Casmir Amadi

Mbaitoli Local Government Area remains a beautiful bride in the Imo political equation. It has the voting strength and as far as democracy is concerned, that is a great asset.

Because all over the world winning and losing election is solely determined by numbers, Imo Political players have always scrambled hard  to gain that advantage to achieve electoral victory.

This is why politicians serious about winning governorship and National Assembly polls, always pay serious attention to Mbaitoli LGA, which has enormous voting strength.

One potent weapon they often use in wooing the electorate to vote for them, and their parties is to hand their parties house of assembly tickets to very popular and acceptable grassroots candidates.

That blueprint always works perfectly well, because, the electorate easily buy into it and eventually, vote the party in the process of voting for their own man or woman.

As we count down to the State Assembly primary election of the ruling APC  in Imo State, many in the area are expecting Gov Hope Uzodinma and party chairman in the state, Hon MacDonald Ebere to walk that path of picking a populist person to fly APC Assembly flag.

The simple reason they are wishing that they do that is because doing that will significantly raise APC chances of winning next year.

However, knowing that they have the best of intentions for the party, we believe they will feel the pulse of Mbaitoli APC, before handing out the flag of  the party.

Once the governor carries out that innocuous fact check, he will discover that  the man Mbaitoli APC members are rooting for, is Hon Emeka Ahaneku.

The upwardly mobile young media entrepreneur, passionate grassroots mobilizer, zealous and committed party leader and unapologetic 3R apostle, is very popular among his people across party lines. He also enjoys same affection and acceptability among youths in the state. This love has little to do with wealth; but everything to do with his milk of human kindness and passion to serve God and humanity.

Ahaneku boasts of an enviable track record of service to community, party and society;  loaded with legislative experience garnered over Eleven  years of working in the legislature ; high integrity quotient and strong character; and the burning passion to continue to up the ante of service.

Undoubtedly, this antecedent is why he is the number one choice of his constituents. To them, having sufficiently proven he is people oriented these past years, it will be a wise political decision to send him to the House of Assembly, to further push the frontiers of service and good governance.

Since Gov Uzodinma is a man with listening ears and strong grassroots feedback mechanism, as well as the desire to make APC remain the running party in the state,   one is persuaded that he will hearken to Mbaitoli APC faithful yearnings.

APC members should pray for that to happen as the man in question  on the ballot, they can go to sleep as winning will become easy.

Of course, his praises are not been sang for nothing. He is the best and has been rated so by respected analysts and pundits.

Take his legislative experience as a case study. He has worked in the legislative environment for more than Eleven  years, beginning with the late Hon Ukachi Ameachi, who represented Owerri West in IMHA from 2007 to 2011.

When Hon Amaechi tenure ended, he was immediately snapped up by Rt Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu who could not resist his outstanding track record of service, loyalty and commitment to duty. He served him first when he was speaker of Imo Assembly from 2011 to 2015.

After proving to Rt Hon Uwajumogu that his assessment and rating of him as an effective and efficient hand was no fluke, the Okigwe Zone Senator did not waste time, making him one of his aides when he became a senator.

The unassuming but highly focused politician, has also exhibited  uncommon loyalty and commitment to his party, and its leadership in the state. Unlike some of those jostling for APC tickets today, he has been with the party and the governor through thick and thin; through the storms and the calm  being relished today.

The records are there to prove these claims.  Hon Ahaneku was in the forefront during the heady days of the struggle for the soul of party, between the Chief Nlemigbo and Dan Nwafor factions. The Eziome Mbieri born aspirant not only stood firm behind the former, but also used his newspaper to fight alongside it.

While on that and up till now, he has vigorously and loudly being marketing the 3R adminstration of Gov Uzodinma, with the same platform. And that is not all. For three years now, he has been traversing the nooks and crannies of his locality, spreading the good news of the adminstration's  achievements in office.

He's not a moneybag yet, he uses his God given resources to touch and uplift the less privileged. When fuel scarcity was biting hard on everybody, he  refilled the tanks of keke and busimo drivers from the area. He regularly buys food items and clothes and distributes to the poor, just as he made sure every APC woman had wrapper in Mbaitoli.

Truly, if anybody merits the party ticket for 2023 Mbaitoli State Constituency Seat, it is Hon Emeka Ahaneku and we are praying that Gov Uzodinma does the  needful.

Anthony Odiong, 55, faces two counts of second-degree sexual assault as well as one of first-degree sexual assault in the charges handed up against him recently in the McLennan county, Texas, state court. The charges against Odiong – who was first arrested in July – involve two women.
