Is Northern Nigeria; Safe for Igbos, Christians?

In retrospect, the sad memories of human carnage in the Northern parts of Nigeria sends rude shock and chills down ones nerves.

The commemoration of ugly incidences like the Maitatsine riots, the Kaduna massacre,Sabo Ngeri Kano massacre and countless others will definitely pose a natural question as to whether the North is actually really safe for soujourners. The chequeerd history of northern Nigeria is replete with ugly incidences of mass killings, arsons, kidnapping, terrorism and all sorts of violent criminality. This is the consequence of typical religious intolerance. The Islamic religion deal with the mandatory acknowledgement of the creator (ie the Godhead), the Lord of lords,God of gods. The issue of religious differences lie on the modus Operandi of exhibiting doctrinal differences . Also, the process of the conversion of faithful equally explains the difference. The Christian and some other religions use persuasive dialogue and preaching. Conversely, the Muslims use coercion and annexation to win converts. In areas of similarities like morality, it is still subjective. In effect, attitudes that constitute moral rectitude differ in several regards. The Christians derive impetus from instilling, inculcating and internalizing morality. But, the Muslims seemingly get engrossed in enforcing, imposing and imbibbing morality.

The insinuations in the foregoing is to reveal obvious dissimilarity. One of the duo honors the sanctity of life, whereas the other cares no too hoots. The way one of the duo sees life is quite a chasmic difference from the other.Yet,both apparently revere the same Godhead as the genuinely convinced and converted faithful. How true is this depends on commitment and fanatism.Religious fanatics are definitely dangerous and detrimental to the Truth. It is a sin.

The commemoration of past sordid history of political and religious killings, arsons, kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism, especially in the northern Nigeria is regrettable.

At the point of little tiff, the violent youths of the north go Gaga. Their indescribable volatility readily unleashed unbearable brutality and man's inhumanity to man on unsuspecting persons of Christian religion, particularly those from the Southeast extraction..The most gruesome ways of decimating human being is witnessed and experienced in the North.Somebody gets stoned, maimed, beheaded and slaughtered at the slightest socio-religious linked provocations or even misunderstanding. What an arrant nonsense.Sokoto is set ablaze, with the Christians and Igbos target victims. Why?

That being the case, it sparks off the growing trepidations and apprehensions as to whether it's even safe to cohabit with crass antagonistic neighborhood, especially in the Northern Answers to this topic will be highly appreciated.

Recently, the incredible news of the martyred young Lagos in Sokoto over what could easily go for a clear frivolity,is so unsettling. They pressed forward charges of blasphemy against the Islamic religion for questioning why Islamic religious post should be sent to a dedicated Whatapp platform. Blasphemy! It's supposed to be the battle of the God,not man.How many times and instances have Moslems blasphemed Jesus Christ? Was anybody stoned or lynched for doing by overzealous angry  Christian mobs. retrospect of the killing of the retired Gen.Zemani Lekwot is quite goose pimping.

And, recent many other unwarranted violent killings, arsons, kidnapping, banditry and terrorism of the Christians and the Igbos in the North provoked this piece.

In as much as one cannot condone these vices, it is not  all out to encourage reprisals. In fact, doing so definitely spells doom for the nation. This is true, because, oftentimes reprisals in whatever guise are found intractable and very disastrous.

So, with what is going on consistently in the North repetitively, and still lingering, disaster looms in this God's about-to-be forsaken country.

In fact, the world perceive Nigeria today, as pure enigma vis-a-viz the prevailing socio-political circumstances. It is probably a mystery to the watching world that we are yet to go up in flames.Enough,is enough. There is no longer any guarantee of the safety and security of citizens anywhere in this country. The Christians and Igbos are no longer safe to sojourn in the North. This is quite alarming, despicable too .These purveyors of violent criminality of the northern extraction should better watch their steps.

Anthony Odiong, 55, faces two counts of second-degree sexual assault as well as one of first-degree sexual assault in the charges handed up against him recently in the McLennan county, Texas, state court. The charges against Odiong – who was first arrested in July – involve two women. He could receive up to life imprisonment if convicted of the first-degree charge, a stiffer penalty that stems from the fact that the alleged victim in the case was a woman whom Odiong was prohibited from “marrying or purporting to marry” under Texas law.
