According to FootballTransfers, Arsenal are closing in on an agreement with Ethan Nwaneri over a new long-term contract that the teenager will sign once he turns 18-years-old next March, with the deal expected to be a five-year extension.

Arsenal fans were in awe with Ethan Nwaneri’s cameo at the Emirates Stadium with the teenage prospect changing the game for the Gunners against Leicester, with the performance coming after the England youth international scored his first senior goals for the north London side in the League Cup.

With Gary Lineker labelling Nwaneri as ‘special’, the Hale End academy graduate is seemingly set up for a huge career at the highest level having this season finally broken through into Arsenal’s senior team after two years of knocking on the door.

And with Arsenal now getting everything in order for Nwaneri to sign a new long-term deal next year once he turns 18, the Gunners should be applauded for their work in trying to tie down one of their best prospects for the future way in advance.

Having scored twice last week in his first start for Arsenal followed by an encouraging cameo from the bench against Leicester, everything is seemingly falling into place for Nwaneri to become a superstar for the Gunners.

And with Bukayo Saka now one of the best players in the world, Nwaneri can become the next sensation to emerge from Arsenal’s academy with the 17-year-old now starting to get regular minutes for the north London side under Mikel Arteta.

Indeed, Nwaneri has the potential to become a real threat for Arsenal, and with so many fans already on board the hype train, the youngster signing a new deal next year will be huge for the north London side going into the future.
