As the festive season approaches, the Anambra State Government, in collaboration with Descendants Fortune Investments Limited, proudly unveiled the “Anambra Christmas Village 2024” over the weekend.

The launch event took place at the International Convention Center in Awka, the state capital and featured several prominent attendees, including Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo; Mr. Don Onyenji, Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment; and Mr. Christian Udechukwu, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, alongside members of Descendants Fortune Investments Limited.

During his remarks, Commissioner Onyenji highlighted that the Anambra State Executive Council approved the establishment of the Christmas Village as part of Governor Soludo’s vision to position the state as a premier destination for tourism and festive activities. He emphasized that the village will enhance attractions such as the soon-to-be-completed Solution Fun City and other leisure centers across Anambra.

Onyenji urged both residents and visitors to take advantage of the state’s leisure offerings, emphasizing that preparations are underway for an extraordinary festive season in 2024.

Commissioner Udechukwu also encouraged Anambrarians to return home during the holiday period to immerse themselves in the planned activities and enjoy the experience.

In his opening remarks, Prince Iyke Okafor, Chief Executive Officer of Descendants Fortune Investments Limited, noted the importance of local investments, expressing that Anambra citizens often contribute to developments elsewhere while under investing in their home state. He reiterated the significance of the “Aku luo uno” philosophy, which advocates for nurturing and investing in one’s home community.

Mr. Emmanuel Owuala, the Programme Manager, provided an overview of the “Anambra Christmas Village 2024,” outlining its goals to promote social harmony, showcase cultural heritage, and enhance governance and community engagement. He also highlighted the potential benefits of local investments in achieving the objectives of the Soludo administration.

The event culminated in the unveiling of the logo for Anambra Christmas Village 2024 and the announcement of Victor Nsube as the winner of the logo competition.
