Imo public servants receive free emergency first aid training
In view of the widespread insecurity in the country and daily emergencies that could arise anywhere including offices, the Nigerian Red Cross Society in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service, Imo State recently trained about thirty (30) selected public servants on emergency response. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2-day Free Emergency First Aid Training, the State Chairman, Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Chima Keke said the programme was part of efforts by the Nigerian Red Cross to impact basic first aid skills to public servants, who would in turn offer humanitarian services in times of emergencies especially in the offices and wherever they find themselves. Prince Keke, disclosed that Imo State branch of Red Cross Society has over 2,500 volunteers covering all the 27 Local Government Areas of the State on humanitarian and emergency activities; while also managing the the Owerri Motherless Babies Home, which is the oldest orphanage in the State. ...
