US NASA turns on 1981 radio in middle of universe on Voyager 1

Image
By Riazor.org The Daily Galaxy In an extraordinary event, Voyager 1, traveling in deep space, sent the signal to Earth using a backup radio turned on in 1981. This historical event was due to a communication breakdown in October 2024 when the craft, over 24 billion kilometers from Earth, had to switch to a prehistoric transmitter because of a power-saving mode. How Voyager 1 switched to its backup transmitter after a communication failure The communication subsystem of Voyager 1 went into protection mode in the middle of October 2024 when a command was sent to turn on one of its heaters. This activated the fault protection system on the spacecraft, which was put in place to protect the spacecraft’s power. The system reduced the power to non-critical functions, such as the X-band, one of its principal radio transmitters. The fault protection system is appropriate to guarantee that the spacecraft remains operational by avoiding power overdraw as Voyager 1 moves away from Earth. This...

Image
By Punching.com Tobi Adegboyega Embattled Nigerian pastor and founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, commonly known as SPAC Nation, Tobi Adegboyega, has narrated why he flaunts his extravagant lifestyle in the United Kingdom. This is coming on the heels of his immigration status trial at the UK’s immigration upper tribunal that ruled that the 44-year-old pastor be deported. The court claimed that Adegboyega had arrived in the UK on a visitor’s visa in 2005 but did not leave when it expired, and had sought to remain in the European country on human rights grounds. However, defending the claim on his extravagant lifestyle in the court, Adegboyega told the judges, Bruce and Rastogi that his wife, Mary Olubukola Alade, who earns £100,000 per year working for AON has been funding him. He added that his motive for the flaunting was to help young people who are the major congregation in his church believe that there are legitimate ways of making money. The court ruling obt...

Naira trades below N2,000 against the British Pound for the first time since July

Image
by Nairametrics The naira broke below the N2,000 barrier for the first time in five months amid ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s currency market. The naira began the week at N2,225/£1 against the British pound and ended the week at N1,980, showing a price gain of N245/£1 over the week. The British pound exchanged for N1,980/£1 in the black market on Saturday morning, amid improved market conditions in Nigeria’s foreign exchange market. The country’s foreign exchange market has been in a precarious state due to several factors, such as weak oil production, fiscal irresponsibility, low export capacity, increased foreign exchange hoarding, and speculative activity. However, the Nigerian naira clawed back a significant degree of losses against the British pound this week in the unofficial market, as inflows by the CBN, a successful Eurobond issuance, and a more robust FX trading platform improved confidence in the Nigerian currency. The naira’s recent bullish run follows the CBN’s directi...
