   - Prince Charls Amadi (Charvon). During the 2015 Governorship Election OZOPOLF, which is an acronym for Owerri Zone political Leaders Forum, no doubt became a rallying point for the actualisation of the Owerri project. The group under the Leadership of Ikeduru born billionaire mobilised Owerri sons and daughters who were very determined to support Owerri Zone project of producing the Governor of Imo state of Owerri zone extraction. The body gained a lot of political momentum and was almost the deciding force in terms of political moblisation, alliances and funding.  By BENEDICT AHANONU  He’s our hero, say indigenes The coastal aborigines in Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states (BRAC) have praised former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, for creating the states. They described the ex-Head of State as their hero. According to the BRAC states, Gowon is second to the Holy Spirit, by virtue of the respect they have for him. They said those asking the former Head of State to apologise for his role in the civil war should have a rethink. A statement by the General Coordinator of BRAC Coastal Aborigines, Doris McDaniels, in response to calls for Gowon to apologise over his role in the civil war, reads: “It has been brought to our attention the recent insults directed at Gen. Gowon by Igbo apex groups, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). “We

Analysis of Gov. Uzodimma's 15 - Priority Sectors: Electricity

By Ben AHANONU  One of the hallmarks of a great leader is his/her ability to identify the needs of the people and conceptualize policies, development projects and programmes towards solving those needs. In addition, creation of employment opportunities in robust partnership with the private sector is a top priority for nearly every people - oriented government, especially in countries with large unemployed and underemployed youth populations; while, the main economic objective of every purposeful country or state is to generate, supply and distribute enough electricity to power its economy. However, irregular power supply and skyrocketing cost of electricity are hurting businesses in Nigeria - impacting negatively on the economy and invariably hampering the ability of the government and the private sector to create meaningful employment opportunities. In fact, it cannot be overemphasized that businesses need electricity to function, grow, create employment and other opportunities for t

The mystical Hope Uzodimma

By Ben AHANONU  " Iro-na Hope oru, iga amamma di egwu, mana igba Hope okwu, igadi nkirikankrika, nkirikankrika, mgbe ahu ijoor njo di egwu, iyie chimpanzee." The foregoing popular Igbo chorus often sang at political gatherings (and which when translated into English means that those who work for Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma are fortunate and always blessed while those that work against him are eclipsed and attenuated by poverty and tormented by hardship to the point they look like chimpanzee), lends credence to the mystical quality of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma and part of what stands him out as a great and visionary leader. The word mystic is always misconstrued by some people especially the make-believe "puritans," religious fanatics and so-called "rapturables," whose acts and deeds make them so heavy to fly for the rapture. Mystic or mystical within this context is not related to magic or having magical powers, especially of a secret,
