He shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he posted a screenshot of his wager predicting Trump’s victory.

In his caption, he wrote: “Trump 2024. I put a million on the boss. I know he’s gonna secure it for America. The only presidential candidate that’s fit for this country. 🇺🇸.”

Finally, Bobrisky leaves Nigeria, reveals reason

(Vanguard) Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has clarified the reasons behind his recent departure from Nigeria following two failed attempts.

Recall that the embattled cross-dresser was halted and taken off an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while trying to travel to London on Thursday night.

Revealing the reason for his departure, the crossdresser expressed his dissatisfaction with the travel disruptions he faced, blaming local security agencies for the frustrations.

“Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily. I need to attend to my sanity and my health,” he stated in an Instagram post on Monday.

He also urged KLM, the airline involved, to refund him for two unused tickets, which he claimed cost N9.8 million each.

“Few Nigerian security agencies try everything to frustrate me, but naaa, I gat God,” he added.

“Imagine buying a business class ticket three times; only one was successful. KLM, I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. I know it’s not your fault, but it’s fine.

“Each business class cost me 9.800,000. I only successfully flew yesterday, 3/11/2024.”

In his post, Bobrisky also responded to potential critics, saying: “Before you come to my page to type nonsense, check your account balance if you can afford three business seats, not to talk of buying it three times. Well, I’m not in Nigeria, so your comment means nothing.”

EFCC arrests ex-Delta governor, Okowa over alleged fraud

(Punchng.com) Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arrested former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, over the alleged diversion of N1.3 trillion.

The N1.3 trillion reportedly represents the 13% derivation fund from the federation account between 2015 and 2023.

According to sources within the commission, Okowa was at the EFCC office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he was subsequently detained by officials.

One of the sources stated, “Okowa was at our Port Harcourt office following an invitation from investigators probing the allegations against him. He was then arrested. The commission is investigating him regarding the N1.3 trillion 13% derivation fund from the federation account between 2015 and 2023.

“He is also accused of failing to account for the funds, as well as another N40 billion he allegedly claimed was used to acquire shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas. He reportedly bought shares worth N40 billion in one of the country’s major banks, representing an 8% equity stake, to support the offshore LNG project. The funds are alleged to have been misappropriated for other purposes.

“Investigators are also examining the alleged diversion of funds by the former governor to acquire estates in Abuja and Asaba, Delta State. He is currently being held at the EFCC facility in Port Harcourt.”

When contacted, EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest but declined further comment on the matter.

“He is with us,” Oyewale simply said.

NAFDAC seals off Abuja warehouse stocked with expired food products

 

(Premium Times) The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) operatives have sealed off a warehouse in Abuja that was said to be stocked with large quantities of expired and unregistered food products.

NAFDAC disclosed this via its X handle.

The regulator said its team raided the facility after uncovering it in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.

The statement said the NAFDAC team busted the facility as the operators were “reportedly preparing to revalidate and resell expired items into the market.”

The operation also extended to an unnamed supermarket in Wuse 2, a highbrow area of Abuja, “where revalidated items from the warehouse were allegedly being sold to unsuspecting consumers,” the statement added.

NAFDAC said among the expired items confiscated were Cornitos Crusties Nacho, Chaunky Mango, Mother’s Recipe, Nacho Crisp, Paneer Makhani, Palak Paneer and Dal Tadka, with the haul valued at approximately 87.5 million naira.

“Both locations were promptly closed for further investigation,” the statement said.

In recent months, NAFDAC has intensified its efforts to combat counterfeit and substandard products in Nigeria.

In May, NAFDAC sealed off an illegal alcohol manufacturing factory operating in Badagry, Lagos State, and vowed to prosecute the owner.

In July, the agency confiscated substandard, falsified and banned agrochemicals in Sokoto’s major markets.

These and many more operations have been carried out as NAFDAC works to tackle the growing issue of counterfeit and substandard products in Nigeria.

The B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range heavy bomber that has the ability to perform various missions, according to the US Air Force.

B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers have arrived in the Middle East area after being deployed by the US, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced late on Saturday night in an X/Twitter post.

According to the post, the B-52 bombers arrived in CENTCOM's area of responsibility, which includes the Middle East region, and were sent from the Minot Air Force Base's 5th Bomb Wing.

The B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range heavy bomber that has the ability to perform various missions, according to the US Air Force.

Furthermore, the  US Air Force said the B-52 is capable of flying at "high subsonic speeds," and it can carry "nuclear or precision guided conventional ordnance with worldwide precision navigation capability." 

"In a conventional conflict, the B-52 can perform strategic attack, close-air support, air interdiction, offensive counter-air and maritime operations," the US Air Force added.

The timing of B-52 bombers' arrival to the region comes as Israel prepares for an anticipated Iranian attack in response to the Israeli strike last week on missile production facilities in the Islamic Republic.

Iran vows a 'crushing response' 

Iran’s Supreme Leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei vowed a "crushing response" to the US and Israel for "what they do against #Iran and the #Resistance Front" in a Saturday night X post.

The arrival of the B-52 Bombers came after the US said on Friday that it would deploy B-52 bombers, fighter jets, refueling aircraft, ballistic missile defense destroyers, and Navy destroyers to the Middle East.

The Pentagon said on Friday that the deployment would occur throughout the coming months. 

"Should Iran, its partners, or its proxies use this moment to target American personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take every measure necessary to defend our people," Pentagon spokesperson Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder said in a statement.

How does the B-52 Stratofortress operate? 

According to the US Air Force, the B-52s can be equipped with electro-optical viewing sensors to improve targeting and combat ability.

Pilots operating the bombers wear night vision goggles during night operations. Additionally, the B-52s are reportedly effective for ocean surveillance and have the ability to "monitor 140,000 square miles (364,000 square kilometers) of the ocean surface," the US Air Force noted.

During Desert Storm, B-52s delivered 40 percent of all the weapons dropped by coalition forces, the US Air Force added.

Fuel Attendant Steals ₦2.5m in Port Harcourt Just Two Days After Starting Job

(iwitnesslive) Port Harcourt (PH)  was recently rocked by a brazen theft involving a new fuel station attendant, who allegedly stole ₦2.5 million, barely two days after starting the job. The shocking story was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by a Nigerian lady who recounted the unfortunate incident that left the station owner and many others in disbelief.

According to the post, the young attendant had just been hired at a fuel station in Port Harcourt and was entrusted with handling cash from fuel sales. However, shortly after resuming his duties, he reportedly absconded with the hefty sum, leaving his employer in financial difficulty.

The employer, seeking to recover the stolen funds, reached out to the attendant’s parents, hoping for cooperation in locating their son. Surprisingly, the parents did not assist; instead, they allegedly instructed their son to leave their home and confiscated his phone to prevent any tracking.

The lady who shared the story, wrote: “A friend who runs a fuel station hired a pump attendant in PH. On the second day of resumption, he stole ₦2.5 million. His parents were informed to assist in recovery or apprehending him, but instead, they asked him to leave the house and seized his phone to avoid being tracked. Are the parents liable?”
